Recreational Bldg Info Updates on the Carp Lake Township Recreational Building Which Collapsed 2/14/2020
On the morning of 2/14/2020, employees had came to the town hall only to find our Recreational Building had collapsed. Due to the age of the building (45 years old), the metal used had deteriorated weakening the support of the building. We were so grateful there were no employees or other people inside of the building. It is a very devastated happening in our Township.
June 19, 2020 Up-to-date Info: Our recreation building has been demolitioned completely. The contractor has cleaned up all debri and the pad is still in tack. Our next step will be to get Carp Lake Township residents input on what ideas they have for our future building. The Township Board will hold a meeting to address the next steps.
When we have information throughout this process, we will update residents through our regular board meetings held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. We may hold additional public meetings, where date and time will be posted on the bulletin located in the White Pine Mineral River Plaza and also at the Carp Lake Town Hall.
We greatly appreciate your patience on this matter.
