Planning Commission

The Planning Commission has finished the updates to Title IV:  Zoning Ordinances 

You may call the township office if you have any questions or want to attend meetings as they are open to the public.


The Planning Commission has finished with the Carp Lake Township Master Plan.  If anyone is interested in seeing the Master Plan, or would like a copy, you may call (906) 885-5884 or stop in at the Carp Lake Town Hall during Treasurer's office hours.

The Planning Commission has 5 appointed board members.  Two board members are appointed for the remainder of a 3 year term; two board members are appointed for the remainder of a 2 year term; and one board member appointed for the remainder of a 1 year term.

The board is to meet 4 times a year.  They will hold special meetings when necessary.  The Planning Commission updates are conferred with James Bucknell, Township Attorney.

The Planning Commission will oversee the Zoning Ordinance, Title IV of Carp Lake Township's Ordinances.  They will make changes when needed, to comply with state and federal law changes.  The recommendations they make will promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public by ensuring the uses of land are situated in appropriate locations and relationships.
